Detlefsen started playing golf at the early age of three years old. When she's not on the golf course you might find her attending church group, running, hunting Upland birds, teaching golf, paddleboarding, playing tennis or spending time with family and friends.

- Four-time Minnesota State High School individual champion (2004-2007).
- Set Minnesota State records for lowest score, most titles won by an individual and greatest margin of victory.
- Two-time Minnesota Women's Golf Association State Girls Champion (2003, 2005).
- Competed in two U.S. Girls' Junior Championships.
- Awarded LPGA's Dinah Shore Trophy in 2010 (for combined academic performance, community service and golf scoring average for a Division I golfer).
- Named the 2011 University of Central Florida Scholar Athlete of the Year.
- Inducted into Minnehaha Academy Hall of Fame in 2012
- Competed on CN Canadian Women's Tour (2012)
