University of Florida Gator, Samantha Wagner (Windermere, Florida), went 1-under in the second round in Lake County. As the leaderboard currently stands, Wagner is one-stroke of the lead.
“I just kind of chilled during the delay and went through a basic and quick warm up so when I got back out here I has a tap in and was back to normal golf,” said Wagner. “On No. 7 I hit it into the water, but I came out with a par so I was really happy to get out of there and finish the round.
In five starts, Wagner has claimed two top-10’s the season including career-best T2 at the inaugural Copper Rock Championship. Competing not far from home, with her father as her caddy, Wagner is looking for her first win on the Epson Tour.
“Adjusting to green speeds has been a true test this week and I am looking forward to continuing tomorrow,” said Wagner. “I would be awesome (to win in her home state). Obviously the goal every week is to win but to be staying at home with friends and family watching would be special.”
