The Epson Tour Rules Team made the decision to shorten the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic to 54 holes on Saturday. After receiving one inch of rain overnight and additional amounts expected today, Brook-Lea Country Club is unplayable. The third round will be postponed until Sunday with starting times beginning no earlier than 11:00 a.m. ET.
A “Road to the LPGA” rookie, Emma Broze (Nervieux, France) took the lead yesterday following a 5-under 65. So far this season, the Oklahoma State University graduate has made two cuts in three starts. This will be the first time in her career she plays in the final grouping on Sunday. Joining her will be two-time Epson Tour champion Rachel Rohanna (Marianna, Pensylvania) and current No. 6 on the money list Lilia Vu (Fountain Valley, California).
Nine players will enter tomorrow in a tie for sixth and three strokes off the lead including the most recent Epson Tour champion and current No. 1 in the Race for the Card, Casey Danielson (Osceola, Wisconsin). She moved from T52 to T6 yesterday after a second-round 67 to get to –5 overall. While she did climb the leaderboard, Allie White (Lancaster, Ohio) had the move of the day with a 6-under 64. It launched the University of North Carolina graduate from T90 to T15.
