NOTABLE QUOTES
Michelle Piyapattra (-6, T4) on her thoughts on the course this week:
“I think today I was putting well, this week. I’ve been getting it close in the last couple of events. I just haven’t been able to make the putts and get the score in. But I’ve always liked this course. It’s kind of nice and open the greens are pretty big. I think a lot of the pins are like getable today. Just being done for the day is nice. I don’t have to worry about the weather because we were like under those clouds and it was making me nervous. I was kind of like speeding up and stuff so. I mean like overall just the putting. And considering how much rain we’ve had the greens have been like so very fast and very firm I would say.”
Sarah White (-5, T6) on her strengths here in Prattville, AL:
“I think my distance off the tee has helped a lot [this week] especially with how wet the golf course is. So, me being able to trust my carry numbers off the tee has been super important because there’s a lot of tight landing areas for myself. Being able to just being to trust that it’s going to stay where it is has helped me a lot with just have a free swing out there. Which allowed me to continue that into all parts of my game.”
Phu Khine (+6, T95) on playing this week after earning a Epson Tour MVP Invite:
“My goal for my golf career is to become a professional. So, this is really a big opportunity for me to play. Even just to experience how the whole week goes means a lot. [The PGA Works Collegiate Championship] was one of the best tournaments, I mean we got to play at TPC Sawgrass, it was great. To have that and on top be able to come here, I can’t thank everyone enough for the opportunities.”
