In her third career start at the Four Winds Invitational, Kendra Dalton (Poughquag, New York) fired a bogey-free back nine, highlighting a 5-under par 67 in the Hoosier State. The score matches her season-best to date.
“I feel like I’ve been playing good this year, but I think a lot of it is just mindset, so I’ve been working a lot on that,” said Dalton. “I keep telling myself, as cliché as it sounds, but to stay in the present. It can be hard to do but I feel like I did that well today. I didn’t let bad shots affect me and just hit one shot at a time. It was good.”
The graduate of Brigham Young University found her way to six birdies and one bogey. Making 12 of 14 cuts so far this season, Dalton has been adjusting her game and looking to capitalize on what the course presents.
“It’s gone by pretty fast. I looked at the schedule, like ‘we only have five events left?’ I am just trying to not get too ahead of myself, not being at the end of the season and really staying present to do the best that I can,” said Dalton.
