Teeing off in the second group this morning on No. 10, Binny Lee (Frisco, TX) set the pace for the field, carding an early 3-under 68. With the help of hitting thirteen out of fourteen fairways at Pinehaven Country Club, Lee finds herself only two strokes behind the lead heading into the weekend.
“I didn’t start off with a hot start. I was pretty even-par throughout the day, and swing wise I didn’t find my tempo until the back-nine, and that’s when my birdies came in. I birdied the last two holes, putting them both within 5-6 feet,” said Lee. “I really like this course it suits me. I am really confident with my driver, so with the tall trees, I feel like I have a bit of an advantage over other players that tend to miss. When I am in the zone, my game completely changes, and I am realizing that more and more when I am in that zone, and that is really helping my confidence.”
Lee will tee off for the second round in Albany, NY at 12:30 pm ET off No. 1.
