A past Epson Tour champion at the 2016 W.B. Mason Championship, Natalie Sheary (New Britain, Connecticut) has officially started her weekly instructional series, “Staying Sharp with Sheary.” The Wake Forest University alumna provides advice and drills to stay sharp with your game while at home.
“The golf world, especially on the Internet, is saturated with advice on how to fix specific flaws and tendencies that are usually long-game related,” said Sheary. “I hope to bring a little different angle with simple, yet effective tips that people can use to make their practice sessions as focused and productive as possible.”
Throughout her amateur and professional career, Sheary’s work ethic has led to an impressive list of accomplishments. Her accolades include 2008 ACC Freshman of the Year, 2009 ACC Player of the Year and 2009 ACC Championship medalist. She also won the 2010 Connecticut Women’s along with her 2016 Epson Tour victory.
With years of experience and success, Sheary shares a simple putting drill you can do on a green or even right at home. All you need is two tees (or two golf clubs) and your putter. Then, you are ready to go!

“With our ‘normal’ lives put on hold for the time being, going to practice is something I look forward to more than ever,” Sheary said. “I’m motivated by the belief we’ll be back on Tour as soon as possible. The Epson Tour and all the amazing sponsors are doing a very good job of trying to reschedule the events that have been postponed. I want to use this time wisely so when we are competing again, I’ll be ready. Staying sharp and ‘tournament ready’ by putting in work on a daily basis is extremely important to me.”
