The Epson Tour tees it up this week for the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge; four featured groups highlight the 144-player field that will compete for a $210,000 purse from August 30-Sept 2 at the Willow Run Golf Club.
Isi Gabsa, Jenny Coleman, Min-G Kim
8:36 a.m. – 10th Tee
This week Isi Gabsa arrives in Sioux Falls looking to become the first two-time winner of the season; she currently sits third in the Volvik Race for the Card standings. The second-year member has put herself in contention on more than one occasion this year with five top 10s, including her win at the Decatur Forsyth Classic. She is playing alongside Jenny Coleman and Min-G Kim in the opening rounds of the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge.
Coleman looks to earn her first Epson Tour win as she makes her second start in the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge. The fourth-year member currently sits No. 25 in the Volvik Race for the Card standings and is on the move with her consistent performance this season.
Kim had an excellent week at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, finishing T8. This will be Kim’s second start in South Dakota where she looks to improve on her T49 in 2016.
Ruixin Liu, Maia Schechter, Olivia Jordan-Higgins
8:47 – 1st Tee
Ruixin Liu arrives in South Dakota already a winner in 2018 after winning the Island Resort Championship. She is making her first start in South Dakota and is grouped with Maia Schechter and Olivia Jordan-Higgins in the first two rounds.
Schechter looks to earn her second Epson Tour win as she makes her second start in the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge. The third-year member currently sits No. 14 in the Volvik Race for the Card standings and another with another strong finish she could move inside the top 10. She is coming off a T4 finish at the FireKeepers Hotel Casino Championship and looks to build on her solid play in Battle Creek.
Jordan-Higgins has struggled this season on Epson Tour with just four cuts made. The three-time winner looks to earn her first victory since early 2017; she is making her fourth start in South Dakota and hopes to better her T63 result in 2016.
Elizabeth Szokol, Marta Sanz Barrio, Linnea Johansson
1:04 p.m. – 10th Tee
Don’t count Elizabeth Szokol out this week, she is coming off a missed cut at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, so there will be extra motivation this week to pick up her second win in 2018, a step closer to securing her LPGA Tour card for the 2019 season. She is grouped with Marta Sanz Barrio and Linnea Johansson in the opening rounds.
Sanz Barrio, the Tour’s most recent winner, looks to go back-to-back and jump into the top 10 of the race standings. The Spaniard will be making her second start in the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge.
Johansson has six top 18 finishes in starts which has her sitting at No. 48 in the Volvik Race for the Card standings. She will be making her first start in South Dakota.
Charlotte Thomas, Krystal Quihuis, Jenny Haglund
1:26 p.m. – 10th Tee
Charlotte Thomas is playing alongside Krystal Quihuis and Jenny Haglund in the opening rounds of the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge. The second-year member has five top 10s on the season which has her sitting at No. 13 in the Volvik Race for the Card standings and in a good position to move up in the rankings with another solid performance.
Quihuis makes her first start in South Dakota after coming off a T19 finish at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship. The rookie is hoping to ride the momentum of a solid finish and move up in the Volvik Race for the Card standings.
Haglund arrives in Decatur looking to become the first two-time winner of the season; she currently sits fourth in the Volvik Race for the Card standings. The Swed has put herself in contention on more than one occasion this year with four top-10s, including a win at the Epson Classic.
