The Epson Tour tees it up this week for the IOA Golf Classic; three featured groups highlight the 108-player field that will compete for a $150,000 purse from September 28-30 at Alaqua Country Club.
Clariss Guce, Louise Ridderstrom, Kendall Dye
8:55 a.m. – 10th Tee
Clariss Guce looks to earn her third Epson Tour career win as she makes her second start in the IOA Golf Classic where she finished sixth last year. The third-year member currently sits at No. 20 in the Volvik Race for the Card standings, and with another strong finish, she could move inside the top 10. Guce is grouped with Louise Ridderstrom and Kendall Dye in the opening rounds.
Ridderstom arrives in Longwood looking to pick up her second win of 2018. The Swede has put herself in contention on more than one occasion this year with three top-10s, including the win at the Valley Forge Invitational.
Dye looks to go back-back and what better place to do that, then the IOA Golf Classic, where she stepped into the winner’s circle for the first time in her career. Dye is making her third start in Longwood and hopes to add win number five to her resume.
Isi Gabsa, Eun Jeong Seong, Madison Pressel
9:06 a.m. – 1st Tee
Isa Gabsa is playing alongside Eun Jeong Seong and Morgan Pressel during the opening rounds of the IOA Golf Classic. The second-year member has put herself in contention on more than one occasion this year with five top 10s, including her win at the Decatur Forsyth Classic. She is in an excellent position to earn her LPGA Tour card for the 2019 season.
Don’t count Seong out this week, she is coming off a rare missed cut at the Guardian Championship, so there will be extra motivation this week to pick up her second win of 2018 and move a step closer to securing her LPGA Tour Card for the 2019 season.
Pressel had an excellent week at the Guardian Championship, T9, her second top 10 in three the last three events. The Florida native has an additional top 10 finish on the season; T9 at the Island Resort Championship. This will be Pressel’s third start in Longwood.
Samantha Wagner, Erica Popson, Karolina Vickova
12:15 p.m. – 1st Tee
Two Florida natives, Samantha Wagner, and Erica Popson will tee it up with Karolina Vlckova in the opening rounds of the IOA Golf Classic. Wagner looks to earn her first Epson Tour win as she makes her first start in Longwood.
Popson has struggled this season on Epson Tour with only eight cuts made. The Florida native looks to earn win number two as she makes her third start in the IOA Golf Classic.
Vlckova makes her first start in Longwood after coming off T59 finish at the Guardian Championship. In eighteen starts this season the rookie has posted three top 10 results and sits No. 45 on the money list.
Casey Danielson, Pajaree Anannarukarn, Dottie Ardina
12:48 p.m. – 10th Tee
Casey Danielson is grouped with Pajaree Anannarukarn and Dottie Ardina on days one and two in the IOA Golf Classic. In seven starts this season Danielson has posted five top 10 results and continues to move up in the standings. The rookie from Wisconson ranks No. 33 on the Volvik Race for the Card money list and makes her first start in Longwood.
Anannarukarn looks to earn her first Epson Tour win as she makes her first start in the IOA Golf Classic. The Thai native has ten top 18 results in her rookie campaign and currently sits fifteenth in the Volvik Race for the Card standings, with another strong finish, she could move inside the top 10.
Ardina enters the final two weeks a little more relaxed having secured her spot on the LPGA Tour for next season, however picking up a victory would certainly add to her already incredible year. The Filipino has five top 10s on the season and is primed for her first career win. Ardina will be making he third start in Longwood.
