The Epson Tour tees it up this week for the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic; four featured groups highlight the 144-player field that will compete for a $150,000 purse from July 19-22 at the Brook Lea Country Club.
Gabriella Then, Stephanie Kono, Linnea Strom
8:36 AM – 1st Tee
Gabriella Then makes her second start in Rochester after coming off a T-38 finish at the Donald Ross Classic. She is grouped with Stephanie Kono and Linnea Strom in the opening rounds.
Kono arrives in Rochester fresh off her first professional win at last week’s Donald Ross Classic in French Lick, Indiana. The fifth-year member is making her second start in Rochester and plays with a bit more confidence after her first victory that catapulted her 79 spots in Volvik Race for the Card standings to No. 6.
Strom has yet to win in her rookie season but notched her best result of the year, a tie for third, at the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic in May. She sits No. 16 in the Volvik Race for the Cards standing and continues to rise with her consistent play having made ten cuts in eleven starts with two top 10s this season.
Sandy Choi, Jenny Coleman, Karen Chung
8:47 AM – 10th Tee
Former Duke University standout, Sandy Choi makes her first start in Rochester after coming off a T-38 finish at the Donald Ross Classic in French Lick. She will play alongside Jenny Coleman and Karen Chung in the first two rounds.
This week Jenny Coleman is making her second start in Rochester where she looks to improve on her T-12 finish in 2016. The fourth-year member currently sits No. 23 in the c Volvik Race for the Card standings and in on the move with her consistent performance this season; posting three top 10s in eleven starts.
Chung makes her first start in Rochester after coming off a runner-up finish at the Donald Ross Classic. In eleven starts this season the second-year member has posted three top 10 results.
Dottie Ardina, Madison Pressel, Andrea Wong
1:15 PM – 1st Tee
This week a new No. 1 sits atop the Volvik Race for the Card standings; Dottie Ardina landed in the top spot after her runner-up finish last week in French Lick, Indiana. In seven starts, she has three runner-up finishes and has only finished outside the top 22 only twice, a T-42 at the Prasco Charity Championship and when she missed the cut at Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. Ardina is grouped with Madison Pressel and Andrea Wong in the opening rounds.
Pressel, the 2014 Forsyth Classic champion, makes her fourth start in Rochester. She had a slow start to 2018 but is finding her groove in hopes of another trip to the winner’s circle. Pressel has one top 10 finish and is coming off a solid performance last week of T-22.
This week Wong makes her first start in Rochester after coming off a T-32 finish at the Donald Ross Classic.
Clariss Guce, Samantha Wagner, Laura Wearn

Clariss Guce overcame a triple-bogey on the 12th hole in 2016 to win her first career professional tournament; she looks to earn her third career win and first victory of 2018 this week in Rochester. The current Volvik Race for the Card No. 22 will play alongside rookie Samantha Wagner and Laura Wearn in the first two rounds.
In ten starts Wagner has posted two top 10 results; she will be making her first start in the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic.
Wearn has yet to win on the Epson Tour this season but has amassed six top 20 finishes in eleven starts which has her sitting at No. 19 in the Volvik Race for the Cards standings. She is making her third start this week in Rochester and looks to improve on her runner-up finish of a year ago.
