Emily Childs, who held the 36-hole lead, made three birdies over her first seven holes and held a two-stroke lead to the eighth tee. She made eight straight pars before a bogey on the par-3 16th hole. She made par on the final two holes and is just two back into Sunday.
Childs posted a 2-under, 69 on Saturday.
“I played well on the front, I think on the back I started pressing for birdies and I probably should have just stayed patient,” said Childs, who ranks 35th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list. “I didn’t finish as well on the back, but there is always tomorrow.”
This has been Childs’ best year on the Epson Tour. She has recorded her first two career top 10’s and now has a chance for her first win.
“It feels good to be having this type of year because it takes a lot of hard work, but I’m not tired yet,” said Childs. “I really would like to finish strong, a win would be great, but you really can’t control what everyone else does.”
