You won’t find many more patriotic than Epson Tour professional Katelyn Sepmoree (Tyler, Texas). In fact, if she wasn’t a professional golf, she’d likely be in the military.
This past week, Sepmoree spent two days at Edwards Air Force Base in California teaching golf clinics to active duty and retired members of the U.S. Air Force.
“As much as they were excited to come out and meet me, I was just as pumped to meet them and hear about their life in the Air Force,” said Sepmoree, who was most pleased to meet a few female members of the Air Force around her age. “I did everything from teach the basics of golf fundamentals to pre-shot routine and the mental game.”
Sepmoree was even challenged to a chipping contest by two Lieutenants and a Major. It resulted in the entire clinic doing push ups together, including Sepmoree.
“What is great about the whole experience is seeing their faces light up when they hit a good shot,” explained Sepmoree. “It’s also really cool to get messages on Facebook from the people I meet saying how they had a great time. Overall, it was a great experience.”
The particular base that Sepmoree visited is in the middle of the Mojave Desert so they don’t normally get many visitors.
“It was great to help promote the game (of golf) and show my appreciation of them and their service.”
This is not the first time Sepmoree has hosted golf clinics for members of the Air Force. In fact, it’s the third base she’s taught clinics on. She also hosted clinics at Kirkland Air Force Base in New Mexico and Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas.
