The first-round of the POC Med Golf Classic at Windsor Golf Club has been postponed due to two inches of overnight rain in Windsor and subsequent unplayable course conditions. Officials from the Tour along with the superintendent of Windsor Golf Club assessed the situation just past 6:30 a.m. and determined that there would be no play on Friday.
“It’s unfortunate, but there is nothing we can do about Mother Nature,” said Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “The staff at Windsor Golf Club is committed to working around the clock to get the golf course back in championship form. We look forward to showcasing the rising stars in women’s golf this weekend at Windsor Golf Club.”
The POC Med Golf Classic is now scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 and is a 36-hole tournament. The 144-player field will still compete for a total tournament purse of $100,000. The winner will earn $15,000.
