JANE RAH WAS BORN IN AURORAJane Rah is listed from Torrance, Calif., but she has strong ties to this area. She was born in Aurora - a Chicago suburb - and spent the first nine years of her life in the state.
“I actually started to figure skate in Aurora because it was so cold, but then my dad just brought me out to the golf course when I was seven,” said Rah. “We moved to Los Angeles when I was about nine for better weather.”
Rah still has a lot of family, on her dads side, that lives in Chicago and every summer she drives through the area to spend time with them. She is going to Chicago after the final round on Sunday.
All of her sports allegiances are also from Chicago. She is a big Cubs and Bears fan.
Rah has played very well this week in Decatur. She made five straight birdies to end her round on Friday and then posted a 2-under, 70 on Saturday.
“My game has been trending up, but it has been trending slowly,” said Rah. “I’m starting to hit it a lot better than at the start of the year. It’s not where I need it to be, but it is manageable. It’s nice to be playing on Sunday and in the hunt.”
Rah spent the last five years playing on the LPGA Tour.
LEE HOPING TO DELIVER A FATHER’S DAY WINErynne Lee didn’t have the putter working like she did on Friday (6-under, 66), but she kept herself in the mix with a 1-under, 71 and is in a group of five players that are three back.
Her father, Brian, introduced her sister, Katie, and her to golf and spent the entire 2016 season as her caddy. This year, he didn’t start the year on her bag, but has been on it of late. He will be on her bag tomorrow for Father’s Day.
“I’ve been playing well for a couple weeks now so it is really great to have him out here to experience that with me,” said Lee, who finished T6 last week and T4 the week prior. “It would definitely be a nice gift for Father’s Day, but I just want to go out there and have fun.”
Lee has made nine birdies against two bogeys through 36 holes.
- Rookie Katelyn Dambaugh made seven birdies and jumped to T3 with a 66. She finished T15 last week in her second start.
