FORT MYERS, Fla., April 15, 2016 – The first round of the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial will begin on Saturday for members of The Legends Tour, while members of the Epson Tour will advance into the third round of play alongside the legends of the game.
The tournament combines simultaneous events at Cypress Lake Country Club with members of the two women’s tours, who will share pairings in separate events on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17.
Epson Tour rookie Madelene Sagstrom of Enkoping, Sweden leads the tournament at 9-under 135, followed by Peiyun Chien of Chinese Taipei, at 7-under 137. They will play alongside The Legends Tour’s Laurie Rinker of Stuart, Fla., in the final pairing of Saturday’s third round. Rinker is The Legends Tour’s defending champion at this event.
The Epson Tour began the week with a field of 156 players and cut to the low 60 scores and ties after 36 holes.
The Legends Tour’s 36-hole tournament, featuring a field of 30 players age 45 and over, will conclude simultaneously on Sunday with the Epson Tour event. One Legends Tour player will compete in each pairing on the weekend alongside two Epson Tour members.
The Legends Tour’s tournament field includes LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame members Pat Bradley, JoAnne Carner, Sandra Haynie, Nancy Lopez, Patty Sheehan and Hollis Stacy.
