After closing the first Epson Tour event (IOA Championship) with rounds of 66 and 69 to finish T8, Augusta James (Bath, Ontario) has stayed competitive during the month break on the NWGA Tour. Three weeks ago, she won on the NWGA West Coast Series and this week she won at Dubsdread Golf Club.
"My game feels good right now,” said James. "I have been putting in the hard work this offseason so I’m happy it is showing during competition rounds. I am looking forward to the rest of the year.”
James carded a final round 66 at Dubsdread to edge fellow Epson Tour professional Jenni Jenq by one stroke.
"The key for me right now is to stay patient,” explained James. "I haven’t been coming out of the gate for every single round making tons of birdies but staying patient has really paid off in the long run of the events.”
She collected a check of $2,500 for her win this week.
James and the Epson Tour return to action April 8-10 with the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic at Lake Wales Country Club. The field of 156 will compete for a purse of $175,000 with the winner set to earn $26,250.
