With the 2014 Epson Tour season scheduled to kick-off next week in Arizona, all eyes will focus on who can earn their LPGA Tour card through the Volvik Race for the Card. The following four players will be playing on both the Epson and LPGA Tours this year.
Alejandra Llaneza
A second-year member of the LPGA Tour, Alejandra Llaneza finished in a tie for 23rd at the 2013 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to keep her card for 2014. During the 2013 LPGA Tour season, Llaneza played in three events and posted a season-best tie for 31st finish at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. On the Epson Tour, Llaneza impressively notched five top-10 finishes including runner-up at the IOA Golf Classic.
Lindy Duncan
After being named the 2012 NCAA Player of the Year at Duke University, Lindy Duncan set out on the Road to the LPGA last season. Despite only playing in seven events, Duncan posted six top-10 finishes including a season best tie for eighth at the Credit Union Classic. Following a successful season on the Epson Tour, Duncan finished in a tie for 38th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn 2014 LPGA Tour status.
Anya Alvarez
Anya Alvarez has been a member of the Epson Tour since 2012 but in 2014, she will be a rookie on the LPGA Tour. The University of Washington graduate finished tied for 29th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 17 status for the 2014 LPGA Tour season. While playing on the Epson Tour in 2013, Alvarez recorded two top-10 finishes.
Caroline Westrup
Caroline Westrup will be a rookie on this year’s LPGA Tour after finishing in a tie for 32nd at the 2013 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. The former Florida State University Seminole joined the Epson Tour in 2010 and is coming off arguably her best season to date. In 2013, Westrup finished 23rd on the season-ending Volvik Race for the Card standings with six top-25 finishes.
