Tiger’s niece scheduled to play at Drumlins as part of Epson Tour
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK, July 23, 2014 – The Epson Tour, the Road to the LPGA, returns to Syracuse for the 19th annual Credit Union Classic presented by Wegmans from Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3 at Drumlins Country Club, East Course. Tiger Woods’ niece, Cheyenne Woods, is part of the 144 up-and-coming professionals scheduled to compete for the winner’s share of the $100,000 total purse.
Woods, 23, has played in ten Epson Tour events this year with her best finish a tie for fifth at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic. She has six top-30 finishes and ranks 49h on the Volvik Race for the Card money list. She has made the cut in nine of ten events played on Tour.
Woods had a great start to her season when she captured her first professional win in February at the Volvik RACV Australian Ladies Masters.
In addition to the Epson Tour, Woods has also played in four LPGA Tour events this year including two majors: the U.S. Women’s Open and the RICOH Women’s British Open.
The Phoenix, Arizona native recently finished a stretch playing on the Ladies European Tour. The Credit Union Classic will be her first Epson Tour event since the Decatur-Forsyth Classic.
Woods was a two-time All-American and three-time All-ACC honoree while at Wake Forest.
Cheyenne Woods is related to Tiger through Tiger’s half brother Earl Woods, Jr., Cheyenne’s father.
Tiger Woods is a 79-time winner on the PGA Tour. He has also won 14 major titles.
