Having two hole-in-ones on two different scorecards in three weeks is something most golfers can only imagine. For Amelia Garvey, that’s just life.
The Kiwi played the NXXT Women’s Championship just a week before heading out to the Epson Tour’s season opener, the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic, and had one of the craziest scorecards in golf. Garvey had an ace, albatross, birdie, par and bogey, signing for a 6-under 66.

During the first round of the Epson Tour’s IOA Golf Classic presented by LPT Realty, Garvey made another ace on Alaqua Country Club’s 129-yard, No. 2 using her pitching wedge. Unlike the ace at the NXXT Women’s Championship, Garvey saw this one go in and celebrated with her caddie.
“This one was actually cooler,” said Garvey. “My caddie Jamie (Tipper) got pretty mad that he wasn’t there for any of it last time. He was back home in England because it was off-season still. He’s been asking for a hole-in-one while he’s been on the bag for a while now, so he was pretty happy with that.
“I think just the fact that it happened again so soon, and everyone in my group kind of knew what happened a couple of weeks ago as well, made it pretty cool.”
Despite the impressive ace, Garvey finished the round 4-over. She carded two additional birdies, four bogeys and two double bogeys. Teeing off on Saturday at 1:34 p.m. on No. 1, Garvey looks to make a jump on Moving Day.
“The good’s really good right now and the bad’s really bad,” said Garvey. “So if we could bring the two together and close that gap a little bit more that’d be great. But there’s obviously some good things going on with what I’ve been able to do the last couple weeks, so I have to cut out the mistakes a little more.”
