Demi Runas (Torrance, California) fired a 4-under par today, finishing 9-under par overall and taking a one-stroke lead going into Sunday. The Clear Golf ambassador continues to focus on beating the course with blinders on.
“I’ve been fortunate to have pretty good ball striking days the past couple days and I’ve given myself a lot of opportunities,” said Runas. “Leading up to this week it’s been a little bit of a struggle just to capitalize on those opportunities. I’ve been talking to my coaches about trying to stay patient and wait for the putts to drop. Thankfully in the last few days I was able to get a few of them to roll in.”
While Runas has fourteen career top-10 finishes, she has yet to claim one this season. The University of California, Davis graduate has been on tour now for eight years. In the time she has spent on the Road to the LGPA, Runas has not only felt the support from her family at home but found a second family on tour.
“For all of us out here, you can’t do it without your support system. For me that goes for Clear Golf especially. They’ve been so good to me over the past few years,” said Runas. “My family over the last decade of me doing this, and you know my friends, you guys out here and just making it feel like there’s a family even when we are on the road. Especially when it is a really long season.”
