On moving day at Pinehaven Country Club in Albany, N.Y., a 68 moved Rachel Rohanna (Marianna, Pennsylvania) up Twin Bridges Championship leaderboard into a share of the 36-hole lead at 5-under overall. Scores didn’t roll in today as Rohanna expected, but she was happy with the results.
“I chipped in on a hole today for bogey but right before that I was like 150 yards out and I hit a 9-iron and it went by the green by 15 yards. It was strange I hit my 9-iron 165 yards and then I bladed my next shot and chipped it in for bogey. I was like okay that even itself out,” said Rohanna. “I missed a five footer for birdy a couple 10 footers but then I made like three 20 footers. I guess I was getting frustrated because I wasn’t making the short ones but at the same time I was making some long ones.”
The #RoadtotheLPGA Mom has been competing on the Epson and LPGA Tours since 2013. Rohanna is a two-time champion, including the 2017 Epson Tour Championship when she was six weeks pregnant. Through years of experience and growth on Tour, Rohanna shares how her mentality towards the game has changed.
“Pre-baby Rachel would not have bounced back from that stuff. I feel like once I had my daughter, I relaxed a little bit,” said Rohanna. “I tell myself I am lucky that i got another day or another tournament, there are more important things in life. Whenever you are feeling good just in general is also little easier to bounce back too.”
