BOUTIER BIRDIES 18 TO FINISH SECOND AND MOVES TO #1
Celine Boutier calmly made a 10-footer for birdie on the 18th hole to finish solo second. She jumps to the No. 1 spot on the Volvik Race for the Card money list at $107,876 earned in 18 starts. It is the first time this season that she has occupied the No. 1 ranking.Boutier has two wins and eight total top 10 finishes. She becomes the fourth player in Tour history to crack $100,000 in single-season earnings. All four have accomplished the feat in the last two years.
“I’m super excited, I didn’t expect it cause I knew I was a good distance behind Benyapa,” said Boutier .”I had a really good week and I hope I can keep it up. I’m not playing next week so I may not stay at No. 1 for long, but hopefully I can play well in Florida and finish No. 1.”
Boutier will skip the Guardian Championship and play the final two events to close the year.
