Julia Roth and Summar Roachell spent Tuesday morning in Little Rock, Arkansas promoting the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout presented by PepsiCo. Roth played college golf at Central Arkansas while Roachell is a recent Arkansas graduate and is playing this week on a sponsors exemption.
The tour started bright and early at 6:15 a.m. with a visit to the KARK studios. First up was an interview with Channel 4’s Aaron Nolan – he’s a golf guy and even had his clubs by him in the interview. Then, the duo stayed at the KARK studios and did an interview with FOX 16’s Susanne Brunner, who jokingly offered to caddy for one of the players after the hit.
Then, we drove to the 103.7 The Buzz studios for an interview with “The Show with No Name”. It was great fun with Roger Scott, David Bazzel, Tommy Smith and RJ Hawk.
We then loaded up and visited Cumulus Media for an interview with Kevin Miller and his “First News with Kevin Miller” show on KARN 102.9. We recorded an interview that will air on Thursday morning.
We stayed in the same studio and Bob Steel from Arkansas Fairways & Greens stopped in to record a segment for his Saturday show.
The busy morning concluded with a return trip to the hotel to meet Arkansas Democrat-Gazette golf writer Frankie Frisco.
No morning media tour ever ends without lunch. We ventured to Dizzy’s Gypsy Bistro in downtown Little Rock and enjoyed some cheese dip and delicious food. We highly recommend.
Before noon, we were on two television shows, three radio shows and interviewed with the local newspaper writer. We made it to El Dorado at about 2:30 p.m.
It’s all part of life as a professional golfer. Roth and Roachell were awesome ambassadors for the Symetra Tour and the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout.
