Five Players Tied for the Lead After Completion of Round One

Tracy Stanford, Jaclyn Sweeney, Thidapa Suwannapura, Joy Trotter, and Mesha Levister all fired first-round 3-under 69's to take the lead after the first round of the Vidalia Championship.

Twelve groups returned to Hawk's Point Golf Club this morning to finish their first round after play was suspended for darkness at 7:24 p.m.

Saturday's second round began at 8:00 a.m. off the first and tenth tee.

Levister was the only player in the lead who was forced to return Saturday morning to complete her first round. Currently in her second season on the Symetra Tour, Levister carded four birdies and one bogey the first round.

Volvik Check-In

The 2012 Symetra Tour season marks the first time in history the Road to the LPGA will award the top-10 players in the Volvik Race for the Card 10 cards with equal, exempt status on the LPGA Tour for the 2013 season. With nine days left until the lives of those 10 players are changed forever, symetratour.com will highlight an aspect of the season-long competition as the Race enters the last leg. Let's take a look at how the current leaderboard is faring in competition this week in Vidalia, Ga. Eight of the top-10 are in action this week and below is how they fared after the completion of the first round Saturday morning.

No. 3 Paola Moreno and No. 5 Julia Boland each shot 2-under par 70's and are currently one-stroke behind the leaders at T6. No. 8 Nicole Smith fired an even-par 72 to stand at T23rd while No. 6 Jenny Suh sits at T30 at one-over par. No. 7 Jenny Gleason and No. 9 Sara Brown fired 2-over par 74's and stand at T49 while No. 2 Victoria Elizabeth is T75th at 4-over.

2013 LPGA Tour Cards will be awarded at the conclusion of the Daytona Beach Invitational on September 30th. See what players will earn their cards and who will be competing on the LPGA next year.
