SymetraTour.com caught up with ‘Card Contender’ Julia Boland who is currently ranked No. 4 in the Volvik Race for the Card. Boland is a 2012 winner and earned her first-career victory at the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
See what she is looking forward to in the next year, what she considers the most valuable thing she owns and what has been the best meal she has had while on the road.
If you could be on a show based only on your personality or interests, which one would it be and why?

What was your favorite board game growing up?
Monopoly
If you could witness any event past present, or future, what would it be?
I would like to see my grandparents meet for the first time. I think post world war 2 meeting sphere so romantic, and I loved my grandfather, so that would be fun.
What was the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Leaving my family gets harder every time!
What’s your biggest fear?
I don't like roller coasters. The whole idea of strapping yourself to a piece of metal and being thrown around is an example of humanities craziness!
What’s the most pressure you’ve ever felt in tournament golf?
First time I represented Australia at the WATC (World Amateur Championship). I remember being called to the tee, and thinking, where can I run to?
Describe the best meal you’ve had while on the road and where you had it…

What story does your family always tell about you?
Not sure…but I think it would be something embarrassing.
What is one of your favorite quotes?
Romans 8:1 "therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus".
If you had one last round of golf to play, who would make up your foursome?
Moe Norman, Ben Hogan, Lorena Ochoa and my dad caddying.
Who do you admire and why?
I admire my parents. They have spent their retirement working with double orphan children in Africa. God has blessed them with a great skill set and I am thankful that they have chosen to share those skills with others.
Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter and why?
I am technologically challenged...l I prefer Facebook, because I understand it.
What is the most rewarding charitable thing you’ve done?
I am thankful to be the spokesperson for Mosaic Vision the organization that my parents work for in Uganda. They help double orphan children by providing for their physical, and spiritual needs through housing, school, feeding and loving.
What is your favorite sports team?
Texas A&M anything WHOOP!!!! Love my Aggies

Like: my office
Dislike: travel and time away from my nephews and niece

If a movie were filmed about your life, who would play you?
Tough question, but hopefully someone with a good sense of humor.
What is your favorite country to travel to?
When I am away from Australia, of course Australia. But I haven't been to Greece, and I think I would like to go there.
If you could play one pro sport besides golf, what would it be?
With the Olympics just finished I really enjoyed watching the team sports. We miss threat environment with golf, so I would like to play soccer or maybe water polo.

Three things you would bring on a deserted island and why?
I have put some thought into this, and I figure the biggest need would be having something to overcome the boredom and something that would give me a sense of purpose. (also presuming there is a fresh stream, and lots of fish and coconuts) 1. Bible 2. abseiling equipment 3. big knife
What’s something you are looking forward to in the next year?
My brother is getting married in November. I am so excited to go home and see him, my new sister and of course the rest of my family.
What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?
My Aggie ring :) and bible
