Coming into the last event on this year’s Symetra Tour schedule, Daniela Iacobelli found herself on the outside of receiving her LPGA card looking in. Forced to post a solid finish at the season-ending Daytona Beach Invitational Presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Iacobelli did just that and more, she won the event.
A third year member of the Symetra Tour, Iacobelli broke into the top-10 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings at the opportune time with a win at the season-ending Daytona Beach Invitational Presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
The Viera, Fla. native had one of the most up-and-down seasons of all the players inside the top-10. Iacobelli played in 16 events this year, made only 10 cuts and finished inside the top-10 five times.
This year, Iacobelli lead the tour in driving distance and finished second in rounds under par and birdies so look for her to use her long distance to her advantage next year on the lengthy LPGA courses.
Everyone who has ever met Iacobelli can attest that she has never met a stranger. Always outgoing whether it is the way she interacts with others or her bold wardrobe choices, it will be hard to forget Iacobelli on next year’s LPGA Tour.
