As the off season keeps players from competing on the Road to the LPGA, SymetraTour.com is running a new feature to keep fans in touch with the future stars of women’s golf. This edition of Time to Meet… features Colombia native and two-year member Juliana Murcia Ortiz. The Arizona State alum recorded 12 top-10 finishes including one victory during her collegiate career and helped the Sun Devils win the 2009 NCAA Women’s Golf National Championship. Murcia Ortiz was also a standout in the classroom and won the MGCA Edith Cummings Munson Award in 2010 for being selected as both an NGCA All-American Scholar and NGCA All-American. She was a four-time All-American Scholar selection and was named First-Team All-American in 2010.

Murcia Ortiz made her Symetra Tour debut in 2011 and made 15 starts in her rookie season, making 10 cuts. She would post three top-20 finishes including a season-best T10 at the South Shore Championship. In 2012, the Colombian improved through her sophomore season and recorded three top-10 finishes with a career-best T4 at the Northeast Delta Dental International. She finished 29th on the money list ($17,788) and 10th on tour in putting average (29.75). See what television show she would like to be on, which tennis pro she admires and the thing she considers to be her most valuable possession.
