As the off season keeps players from competing on the Road to the LPGA, SymetraTour.com is running a new feature to keep fans in touch with the future stars of women’s golf. This edition of Time to Meet… features Ohio native and two-year member Laura Martin. The University of Indiana alum recorded 16 top-10 finishes and one win in her career with the Hoosiers. She was a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection and was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. Martin was also the winner of the 2010 Ohio Women’s Amateur Championship.
She made nine cuts in 13 starts in her rookie season in 2011 and recorded two top-20 finishes including T10 at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. Martin improved in her sophomore season making 12 cuts in 16 starts and posted a career-best seventh place finish at the Challenge at Musket Ridge. She ranked 17th in putting average (30) and 21st in driving accuracy (78%). See what event in history she wish she could have witnessed in person, what boy band was her first concert ever and what you could find her doing on a rainy day.
