SymetraTour.com caught up with Casi after her win for a quick Q&A.
Symetra Tour: Congrats on your first win - how are you feeling?
Casi: I am feeling relieved that I have proved to myself I have "it" in me and that hard work really does pay off! I also feel winning this week lifted a year long burden I had placed on myself. I don't think I will be so hard on myself now. A player can't win every week, we just have to keep trying to put ourselves in contention!
Symetra Tour: What do you think made the difference for you this week?
Casi: The difference this week was a chapter in one of Harvey Penick's wonderful books. He talked about just playing target golf. If you think about where you want to hit it, your muscles will let you hit it there! I was also 71% in sand saves and averaged 27.3 putts. That's how you win golf tournaments!
Symetra Tour:What will you take away from your first win that will help you this year on the Symetra Tour – Road to the LPGA.
Casi: I think just getting my first win should help my mindset on the 2012 Symetra Tour. Knowing I won going up against some of the top LPGA women in the world says a lot! I am ready to work even harder!
Symetra Tour: We announced the schedule this week what event are you most looking forward to?
Casi: You know..I should say I am looking forward to going back to Syracuse (Drumlins East GC) the most because that's where I had my best finish last year, but I am going to say the Island Resort Championship in Harris, MI! Sweetgrass Golf Club is PURE!!!!! The Potawatomi Indians were thrilled to have us last year! It was nice to feel so welcomed and appreciated! We had some big galleries there too!!!! However, I do have to solve the tick problem in the UP for my dogs!!! :)
