Time to Meet: Emma de Groot

As the off season keeps players from competing on the Road to the LPGA, SymetraTour.com will run a new feature to keep fans in touch with the future stars of women’s golf. This edition of Time to Meet… features Australia native and 2012 Symetra Tour rookie Emma de Groot. The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga alum had a successful amateur career in Australia was ranked the country’s No. 1 amateur in 2011. de Groot moved to the U.S. to pursue her collegiate career and was an immediate impact player for the Mocs. She was named 2008 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and went on to be named the conference’s Player of the Year in 2011. She recorded six wins in her career and was a four-time All-Conference selection. de Groot made 15 starts in her first year on Tour in 2012, making 10 cuts and posted career-best finishes T33 at both the Vidalia Championship and the Four Winds Invitational. See whether the Aussie prefers Twitter or Facebook, who she thinks should play her in a movie about her life and who she’d chose for one last practice round on the Symetra Tour.
