As the off season keeps players from competing on the Road to the LPGA, SymetraTour.com will run a new feature to keep fans in touch with the future stars of women’s golf. This edition of Time to Meet… features Ohio native and six-year member Carling Coffing. The Ohio State University alum was named 2005 Freshman Player of the Year at OSU and was the individual runner-up at the 2006 Big Ten Conference Women’s Golf Championship. She was also a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection (2006, 2008). Coffing joined the Tour as an amateur in 2007 but made her professional debut in 2008. Carling’s career-best finish came in 2011 at the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge where she tied for second. She made 13 starts in 2012 and posted a season-best T16 at the Symetra Classic in Charlotte, NC. See what the former Buckeye’s biggest fear is, what she claims as her biggest sports accomplishment to date and what big day she has coming up in January.

If you could be on a show based only on your personality or interests, which one would it be and why?
The Golf Channel because I already have a golf show called "Tee it up Ohio" and would love to commentate PGA/LPGA tournaments in the future.
What was your favorite board game growing up?
Trivial Pursuit. If I have a partner who actually knows the answers!

Martin Luther King’s "I have a dream" speech. One of the best speeches in American history.

Working for The Ohio State football team at coachtressel.com. I was a one man show! I researched games, interviewed players, filmed games, edited videos, and wrote the articles all in one day!
What’s your biggest fear?
Water. I'm like a cat and I hate it! My fiancé was a college swimmer so we are working on it!
What’s the most pressure you’ve ever felt in tournament golf?
LPGA final stage of Q School. All your dreams can come true in one tournament, and I could barely take the club back my first year!

Chicken on the Barbie from Outback Steakhouse. I have this same meal 3-4 times per week at every stop!! You're welcome, Outback ;)

My dad. He was an All-American wrestler, professional speaker, and started his own business 20 years ago. He always pushes himself to do great things and never gives up. I hope to be half the person he is one day.
Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter and why?
Twitter! I feel less weird about posting random things on twitter versus Facebook. "3 putts=the devil" "traffic #scream"
What is the most rewarding charitable thing you’ve done?
Mailing out free autographs to people who donated any amount of money to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I ended up writing hundreds of letters (personally paying postage for them) but we raised thousands of dollars!
What is your favorite sports team?
Ohio State football! My roommate and I were ESPN's fan of the week when we body painted for a November game.
Describe your biggest sports accomplishment to date…

If a movie were filmed about your life, who would play you?
I'd say Jessica Alba, but realistically I'd probably play myself!

What kinds of things do you do on the road other than golf?
I love to work out, go out to dinner, goof off in the players area, and I always go shopping for a souvenir that shows what that state is known for.
If you had the opportunity to tell the fans and the media something about yourself or your career, what would it be?
I'm a down to earth girl who works hard but has a great time doing it! I grew up hitting flop shots over the barn with my dad and we have evolved tremendously over the years because we never gave up. I will never forget the little people, because that's what I will always consider myself.
