Now that their rookie season is under their belts and they have had a chance to reflect on the year, SymetraTour.com caught up with several rookies for a quick Q&A. This week we catch up with Britney Hamilton to see what she thought about her rookie year.

Use one word to describe your rookie year?
Whirlwind

What did you learn about yourself and your game this year?
I learned to trust my short game which was something I didn't do in the past.  I also learned that  it's easy to get mentally burned out…I had to learn to balance golf and taking the time to relax.  It's easy to get caught up in practicing and trying too hard.

Did you set goals and if so did you accomplish them?
Yes I did…some of them yes and some of them no.  Motivation for next year!

What was your favorite part about this year as a rookie?
I enjoyed the fact that almost every tournament was a new place for me and I had a chance to make new memories.

What did you learn about the Symetra Tour that you didn’t know prior?
I learned that there are awesome people all around the country that open up their homes to us every week!  I had so many great housing experiences this year and I was just overwhelmed by their love and support.  I've kept in touch with lots of them and totally appreciate their hospitality.

Do you have any funny rookie mistakes you want to share?
I brought an air mattress to the tournament in Iowa because my housing had enough rooms, but was short one bed.  This would have been 100% fine if I had remembered to bring the pump for the bed.  My friends and I ended up going to a gas station to use the tire pump to blow it up, but we hadn't thought of how to get it back to the house.  We ended up putting it on the roof of my car and holding it down through the sunroof and the windows!  It was hilarious.

What piece of advice would you give to next year’s rookie class?
Write down something that you learn every week.  Whether it's golf related or not, at the end of the season you'll appreciate it.

What are some travel tips now that you are a seasoned traveler?
If you're caravanning with other people, walkie talkies can be highly entertaining.

How will you spend your offseason?
I'll spend some time at home in Michigan with my family and then get back to work preparing for next season!
