The Epson Tour is three-quarters of the way through its West Coast stretch, making its second and final stop in the Grand Canyon state. The fourth edition of the Carlisle Arizona Golf Classic will be played in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 9-12. Here are five things to know about the 2024 Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic:
What’s New in 2024?
There were a few changes to the 2024 event, enhancing the tournament for both fans and athletes. For the first three years of the tournament, it was held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. This year, however, the Epson Tour athletes will tee it up on TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course. The event has also seen purse increases throughout the years, with the 2024 field competing for $400,000, the largest purse in Tour history. Like years past, the event remains a four-day, 72-hole tournament. This year, it’s one of two tournaments on the Epson Tour schedule (along with the Epson Tour Championship) to play 72 holes.
There’s a Rich Past and Bright Future
The Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic has a rich history, both figuratively and literally, with big-name past champions and large purses. Over the past few years, the event has been known to have one of the season's largest purses and is now known as the largest purse in Epson Tour history at $400,000. The champions have all gone on to play on the LPGA Tour after winning in Arizona, and the biggest name is the most recent winner (2023), Gabriela Ruffels. A rookie on the LPGA Tour now, Ruffels will not be competing for the winner’s share of $60,000 in 2024. However, inaugural champion, Ruixin Liu (2021) and Fatima Fernandez Cano (2022) will look for a second win this week in Scottsdale.
The tournament also has a bright future, with news of an extension hitting the stands last November. As announced, Carlisle Companies will continue to support the event for years to come, with the Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic remaining on the Epson Tour schedule through 2026.

The win, and 500 points in the Race for the Card catapulted her from No. 48 to the top spot, overtaking Valery Plata, who held the lead through four events. Young, along with 11 of the rest of the top 15, will tee it up at the Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic hoping to keep their spot or move up in the rankings.
Young will tee off No. 1 at 12:34 pm MST on Thursday.
