Jessica Porvasnik
Porvasnik is having the best start to her Epson Tour career since her first full season in 2022. The 28-year-old has made all four cuts this year, with a career best runner-up finish at the Atlantic Beach Classic. Porvasnik currently sits at No. 10 in the Race for the Card after her T11 performance at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa where she posted one of her best rounds of the year with a 6-under 66 in round two. With her game rounding into form, she is a name to look out for this week in Tucson.
Juliana Hung
The newest Epson Tour champion ran away with the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, winning the event by 9 shots. Her 21-under total is the lowest 54-hole total in Epson Tour history, breaking the previous mark by 2 shots. Before her week in Beaumont, Hung had only made one cut in her first three starts but has had an excellent career on the Taiwan LPGA Tour, winning six times. All signs point to Hung having another good week as it seems she has found her game and more.
Ssu-Chia Cheng
Cheng rounds out the first featured group, making only her third start of the season on the Epson Tour. The 26-year-old has the most experience of the group, entering the week with 17 top-10 finishes and two victories on the Epson Tour, with her last win coming at the 2022 Island Resort Championship. Cheng played well in her last start at the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic, finishing T17. Combine her current form and past experience and she will be a name to watch this week at Sewailo Golf Club.
GROUP TWO | RD1 – 12:23 PM MST / RD2 – 7:33 AM MST
Gigi Stoll
Stoll enters the week as the defending champion of the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic and is coming off her best round of the season at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. The University of Arizona alum has made two of three cuts so far this season and is sitting inside the top 50 in the Race for the Card standings. Stoll turned her season on its head in Tucson last season and is looking for more of the same in her 2024 campaign.
Jiaze Sun
The next rookie who we may see in the winner circle is Jiaze Sun who has had a strong start to her first year on the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA. Sun missed the first cut of the season but has since played extremely steady golf. Last week at Tukwet Canyon the People’s Republic of China native signed for three straight under-par rounds resulting in a T11 finsh.
Ashley Lau
Lau is entering her sophomore year on the Epson Tour after a strong rookie season where she finished 55th in the 2023 Race for the Card standings. This year, Lau has played in three events, making two cuts in that span. Like Sun, Lau finished T11 last week at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa and has proven to play well in streaks. Lau's game has started to click heading into the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic, she is a player to keep an eye on heading into Saturday.
